Our therapy and mentoring service has come along as a natural progression from Jane’s original play therapy for children with autism which started many years ago.
Throughout the years Jane has provided much needed support to individuals with special needs and their families and now is a partner with Bournemouth, Christchurch & Poole Council (BCP) for referrals in this sector.
Bouts of depression can be very common in people with special needs, having to deal with many different challenges in life can prove too much at times. We are here to help through those times and help you take back control of your mental health and wellbeing.
A mix of one-to-one sessions and our adult support workshops and events gives our members a sense of purpose and a positive path to follow to make friends for life. The friends made within the Adult Support of the foundation have proved to be of great strength and support to each other.
Stress and anxiety are words that we hear more often now than ever before, a huge part of our therapy is assisting in learning and accepting that change can happen.
Our aim is to teach you to be your own therapist in time, learn to listen to your body as well as your mind. Our Adult Support is big on encouraging exercise, healthy food choices and spending time in nature, which is extremely healing and leads to a calm, stress free life.
Who Do We See?
Individuals aged 12+ with special needs, poor mental health, anxiety, stress, panic attacks and low self-esteem.

Sessions can be individual or include family members, carers or guardians, the choice is yours, as is whether we conduct a session indoors or outdoors. More Than Just A Charity…
“The autism therapy my daughter has received has been nothing short of remarkable. Not only has her anxiety reduced, Jane has given my daughter the tools to learn how to reduce it herself, develop independence and feel empowered. My daughter has more confidence now and will try to join in with her peers in a way she never did before. Her confidence and sense of wellbeing has improved immensely, thanks to the skills and in-depth knowledge of Jane. To enjoy life, feel empowered and see autism as a big positive is the only way I can describe what the team at Positive Path do. It’s wonderful to be a part of this charity and we cannot recommend them enough.”
Whatever the need of the family is we are here to help. Jane is mum to a young man with autism so understands life with disability, also some members of our team are also parents to special needs children.
